UCLA earned a first-round bye in the Pac-12 Tournament, but will it be a case where the Bruins should have been careful what they wished for?
That’s because UCLA won’t have a chance to get on the court of T-Mobile Arena until after the Arizona vs. Colorado game due to the fact that UCLA head coach Steve Alford said Tuesday that he would not wake the players up early for an 8 am shootaround this morning.
So, now, the cold Bruins will face a hot Stanford team that rolled over UC Berkeley yesterday. When you factor in that Alford may not be able to go with the lineup that won the game against Stanford in Westwood, it seems like the deck could be stacked against the Bruins.
The key for a Bruin win today is stopping Reid Travis. If UCLA can hold Travis to as few points as possible, the Bruins should win, but, if Travis has a big game, UCLA could be one and done.
