While the UCLA coaching search continues, so does the Bruins’ men’s basketball season. This weekend, UCLA is in Oregon to face the Ducks tonight and the Beavers on Sunday.
Tonight’s game looked to be a good one at the start of the season, but things went off the rails for both the Bruins and the Ducks in December. So far, it looks like UCLA’s problem was a coaching problem as the Bruins are 2-0 under interim head coach Murry Bartow. Of course, that theory will be put to the test this weekend. The Bruins had trouble throughout the Alford Era when it came to sweeping a Pac-12 road trip.
To be sure, UCLA did that three times during the Ball-Leaf season in 2017, but those were the only two-game road sweeps of the Alford era. So, we’ll have to see if the Bruins can beat a tough Oregon team that is down to just eight scholarship players due to injuries.
With the Ducks missing Bol Bol, the son of former NBA player Manute Bol, who is out for the season, tonight’s game gets a little bit easier, but it’s never easy to win at Matthew Knight Arena.

This season, we are proud to, again, have today’s audio feed for everyone who opts to use the TuneIn player embedded below. For optimum results, start the audio feed then pause your DVR and sync them up together. Tonight’s game is on ESPN with Dave Pasch and Bill Walton. If Walton starts insisting that UCLA should hire Barack Obama to coach the basketball team again, I will probably mute my TV and listen to the UCLA Sports Network audio. If you don’t want to wait and would rather listen to Josh Lewin and Tracy Murray call today’s game, you can do that right here.
