This afternoon, the Bruins head across town to face Southern Cal at the Galen Center at 1 pm PT on CBS.
The biggest question going into this game is: “Will Kevin Porter Jr. play for Southern Cal today?” Southern Cal head coach Andy Enfield said Porter is suspended indefinitely and he did sit out last Sunday’s game against the Oregon Ducks.
Considering some of the Southern Cal-style justice that Enfield has levied in the past against guys like Chimezie Metu, one game may end up being the full length of Porter’s suspension. As you’ll recall, Metu punched Washington State’s Carter Skaggs in the groin last year and Enfield suspended him for just the first half of Southern Cal’s next game.
Of course, we’ll no doubt be forced to listen incessantly to Southern Cal’s band droning on and on today, but there is an upside. According to multiple reports, Southern Cal AD Lynn Swann has banned the Southern Cal Song Girls from performing at the Galen Center. According to Inside USC’s Scott Wolf, it may have to do with the fact that some of them joined the “Fire Helton” chants at the Notre Dame game. Wolf actually asked if there was a worse athletic director in the nation. To which, I’m compelled to ask Scott if he’s met Dan Guerrero.
So, we won’t have to watch them today and that’s a shame. I was hoping to catch one of them cheering when Moses Brown dunks.
