UNLV Runnin’ Rebels at UCLA Bruins Game Thread

The Bruins look to improve to 3-0 on the season against a struggling UNLV squad.

It has definitely been interesting start to the Mick Cronin era for the UCLA Bruins. After a frantic comeback to knock off Long Beach State, the Bruins turned a close game against UC Santa Barbara into an impressive 16-point victory.

Now, the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels come into town, fresh off a loss to UC Berkeley, but with a talent level that may prove to be the highest this young Bruins team has faced all season. It should be an interesting test for UCLA early.

That said, what UCLA fans may be looking for in this game is which Bruin player steps up. Against Long Beach State, Tyger Campbell proved how effective he could be running the offense, while the Jalen Hill Show was in full force against UC Santa Barbara. Cody Riley should be back to full strength for this game, so perhaps he shows more of the offensive firepower he showed in the exhibition game, while Chris Smith looks to continue his all-around good performance.

Frankly, this is a game UCLA should win but, with a young team under a new coach, this is definitely a game where we should expect a few bumps. But that’s also what the season will probably be also. Might as well strap in for the ride.
