Game Thread, Preview and How to Watch: Washington State at UCLA

The Cougars haven’t scored more than 66 points on the road and the Bruins win when their opponent scores less than 70. That means the Bruins should win tonight.

Tonight, the UCLA men’s basketball team hosts the Washington State Cougars at Pauley Pavilion at 8 pm PT.

Since the Cougars beat the Bruins in Pullman at the beginning of January, WSU has won four games and lost five. But, the more important stat might be the Cougars’ conference record on the road.

So far this season, Washington State has not won a Pac-12 game on the road. In fact, they have not scored more than 66 points in a conference road game this season.

Of course, that’s important because most Bruin fans who has watched UCLA basketball this season know that UCLA has not lost a game where their opponents scored less the 70 points. So, if the Bruins can hold the Cougars to less than 70 tonight, UCLA should come out of tonight’s game with the win.

And, believe it or not, that could potentially move the team into a tie for second place in the conference standings if Colorado holds off the Ducks and both Arizona schools should lose in the Bay Area tonight.

Of course, we’re coming down the backstretch of conference play and every game matters when it comes to seeding in the Pac-12 Tournament. UCLA is in a position where they can get one of the four First Round byes if they can finish in the top four in the conference standings.

With four home games left including tonight, it’s extremely important for the Bruins to win all four of those games. Having won three of their last four and five of their last seven, UCLA is a team that can certainly make a run over the next few weeks and claim a high seed for the conference tournament and that starts with tonight’s game against the Cougars.
