Last weekend, the Men’s Soccer team went to Northern California and split a pair of games with Cal and Stanford. This weekend, they come to Westwood and UCLA faces UC Berkeley tonight following the Women’s Soccer game.
On Sunday against the Cardinal, the Bruins were shut out 3-0 when Stanford scored three second-half goals. They scored what would turn out to be the game winner in the 66th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
UCLA had a chance to score in the 69th minute but Jackson Yuell’s shot hit the crossbar and did not go in. The Cardinal added insurance goals in the 76th minute and in the 80th minute to seal the win.
In the nightcap of the Women's-Men's Soccer doubleheader, look for another high scoring affair similar to last week’s game against the Golden Bears where UCLA won 4-3 in the last minute of regulation. Hopefully, it won’t be quite so close tonight.
