#7 UCLA Men’s Volleyball Hosts #5 Lewis

The Bruins look to turn the page on a terrible February by starting off March with a win at home.

There’s no doubt that the Bruins had a terrible month of February, a month in which they went just 2-6. But, UCLA has had a week and a half off to prepare for tonight’s match against Lewis University.

Of course, most Bruin fans are going to say, “Who?” Unfortunately, UCLA isn’t exactly in a position to say that right now. That’s because the #7 Bruins have been looking up at #5 Lewis in the past three AVCA Men’s Volleyball Top 15 Polls.

So, at this point in the season, UCLA is an underdog at home against a school few Bruin fans have ever heard of before. Such is the nature of college sports.

That makes it even more important that the Bruins come out tonight and close out their sets tonight. That was a problem in February and, now, UCLA has an opportunity to turn the page and put that month behind them.

To their credit, Lewis is the second-best team in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association behind #1 Ohio State. So, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Sooner or later, though, the Bruins need to start playing to their talent level. With February behind them and with the team well-rested, tonight would be a great night for UCLA to make a statement.
