This weekend, the UCLA men’s water polo team travels to Northern California for the Stanford Invitational where they will face San Jose State at 9 am PT.
While it’s not the only game the Bruins will play this weekend, it is the only one which counts. That’s because the Bruins will play four exhibition games this weekend. Three of the exhibitions will be against the top Italian professional team Pro Recco while one of Sunday’s exhibitions will be against the Olympic Club.
Last Time Out
Last weekend, the Bruins dominated all four games they played at the Navy Open. UCLA crushed the Fordham Rams, 15-3, to start the weekend. The Bruins finished play last Saturday by beating the Princeton Tigers, 14-5. Then, on Sunday, UCLA blew Navy out of the water, 20-7, before wrapping up the trip with a 20-2 win over the LaSalle Explorers.
San José State Spartans
San José State opened the season with a loss to then-#5 Pacific, 16-11. The loss resulted in the Spartans dropping for #13 in the CWPA preseason poll to #18 this week.
This game shouldn’t be in doubt after the first quarter. The Bruins should win this game by at least ten points.
This is your UCLA men’s water polo open thread.
Go Bruins!!!
