This afternoon, the UCLA men’s water polo team travels up PCH for a game against the #6 Pepperdine Waves. Today’s game starts at Noon PT and can be streamed on WatchStadium.com.

Last Time Out

Last weekend, UCLA was in Northern California for the Stanford Invitational. UCLA only played one game that counted and that was Saturday’s game against San Jose State, which the Bruins won 15-10. It was good that was the only game which counted because the Bruins dropped a pair of exhibition games against Italian professional team Pro Recco. UCLA lost both games about as badly as the way UCLA beats many of their opponents. They weren’t even close.

In the game against the Spartans, six different Bruins each scored a pair of goals. Jake Cavano, Nicolas Saveljic, Felix Brozyna-Vilim, Ashworth Molthen, Gabe Discipulo, and Jack White all scored twice for the Bruins. White’s first goal of the game proved to be the game-winner.

Cameron Reagan, Tommy Gruwell, and Andy Rodgers each added a goal as well.

Pepperdine Waves

The Waves are off to a pretty good start so far this year, having won nine of their first eleven games. Their only two losses have both come against UC Santa Barbara with the second loss to the Gauchos coming on Thursday in overtime.

Expect today’s game to be a pretty high scoring game, especially if Adam Wright starts freshman goalkeeper Bernardo Maurizi in this one. And, it’s possible that the Waves could pull off an upset.

Go Bruins!!
