UCLA Bruins Need Just One Win to Capture the NCAA Softball WCWS Title

The Bruins will be the home team as they look to sweep the Sooners in the WCWS Finals.

The Bruins are going for the Natty tonight!

After last night’s 16-3 blowout, UCLA looks to finish the season with one more win, which would clinch the program’s 12th national championship and UCLA’s 118th NCAA title. Tonight’s game will start at 5:30 pm PT.

Last night, the Bruins really could do nothing wrong. They scored in every inning but the second. If they can repeat just 14 of last night’s scoring tonight, they will probably win tonight’s game.

If there is one key to tonight’s game, it comes down to the UCLA offense. That’s because UCLA has not lost a game all season where the Bruins have scored at least four runs.

To be sure, the Bruins’ pitching and defense will need to hold the Oklahoma offense in check, but the reality is that UCLA’s offense is the bigger key. If the Bruins provide sufficient run support, it won’t matter who’s in the circle or how many runs they give up.

The only remaining variable comes down to Kelly Inouye-Perez. Will she overmanage or undermanage tonight’s game or will she actually employ the right in-game strategy? If so overmanages or undermanages, how much will that affect the game’s outcome and will it be enough to force a third game tomorrow?

There’s no doubt that Rachel Garcia will be in the circle to start tonight’s game. How long will Inouye-Perez let her go if she isn’t sharp tonight?

This is your UCLA Bruins vs. Oklahoma Sooners Women’s College World Series Finals Game 2 open thread.

Go Bruins!!! Bring home 118!!!
