Yesterday, we found out where the UCLA Men’s Basketball team is headed in March Madness. Today, we’ll find out where the UCLA Women’s Basketball team is headed.
More than likely, it looks like the Bruins will once again get to host the first two rounds of the Women’s Tournament like they did last year. According to ESPN’s Women’s Bracketology, UCLA will probably earn a 4 seed and get to host the first two rounds. I’m just glad their Women’s Bracketology isn’t handled by Joe Lunardi.
The Pac-12 could end up having half the conference in the Women’s Tournament. ESPN’s Charlie Creme has Stanford, Oregon State, Washington, Arizona State and Oregon making the tournament in addition to UCLA. Interestingly, Pac-12 champ Stanford is the only team in the top 16 seeds that won’t host the first two rounds.
That’s because Stanford is the host this weekend for the Pac-12 Gymnastics Championships. So, while the Cardinal could be seeded as high as two somewhere, they will not be able to benefit from playing two tournament games at home.
The selection show itself will begin at 4 pm PT. So, most of us here on the West Coast will still be at work. Thankfully, like almost everything these days, it will be streaming on WatchESPN.com and the ESPN app. You will need to verify your TV provider, though, to access the stream.
