The Bruins take control and easily defeat the Broncos.

The UCLA Women’s Basketball team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with an 83-56 win over Boise State. The Broncos were no match for the Bruins who extended their home winning streak to 28 games.

From the opening tip, it was obvious it was going to be another blowout game for the Bruins. They had control and the Broncos were no match. Even though Boise State made fewer turnovers than usual, the ones they made proved costly as the Bruins capitalized on every single one.

While Monique Billings was quiet for most of the game last time out, today, she came back to life. She led all scorers with 19 points. Jordin Canada added 15 points and 16 assists while Kennedy Burke and Nicole Kornet both finished with 14 points each. Kornet picketd up 12 of her points on three-pointers, hitting 4 of 8. Meanwhile, Kari Korver made 3 of 5 threes for 9 points total.

With this win over Boise State, UCLA moves on and will play the winner of Texas A&M and Penn at home on Monday. Either way, it won’t be an easy win like it was today.

Go Bruins!
