#15 UCLA Women's Basketball Faces Oregon State in Pac-12 Semi-Final

The Bruins face the Beavers for the right to play for the Pac-12 Championship.

@UCLAWBB

The UCLA Bruins went into the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament yesterday and defeated Arizona State to move on to the semi-finals. Tonight, they face Oregon State who won the regular season conference title.

Tonight’s semi-final game is a rematch of last year’s championship game. Last year, these two teams met in the championship game where Oregon State won comfortably to win the Pac-12 title. This year, the Bruins are looking for a ticket back into the final game by beating the defending champs.

Yesterday's game against Arizona State was a tale of two halves. They completely dominated the Sun Devils in the first half and basically took the game in the first quarter. While they did win the game, a performance similar to the yesterday's second half will not cut it.

One of the players they need to guard heavily is Sydney Wiese. She scored 26 points to help the Beavers advance to the semi-finals. On top of blocking Wiese, a man-to-man defense should stop the Beavers who are seventh in the nation in field goal percentages. The Beavers can shoot from anywhere so the Bruins need to stop them from taking their shots whenever they can. Coach Cori Close herself said right after yesterday's win, that this game will come down to rebounds. She believes whichever team can capitalize on the rebounds will win the game.
