UCLA travels to Colorado to face the Buffaloes looking to complete a road sweep for the first time in Pac-12 play this season.
UCLA knew going into Utah that the Utes were going to be tougher than in past years. It was a close game all night until the Bruins sealed it in the final four minutes for the win.
Jordin Canada and Michaela Onyenwere came up big for the Bruins. Both scored 20 points in the game. Freshman Onyenwere continues to shine. It looks like UCLA has found a player to help build the team after Canada and Billings are gone.
While the Bruins shot just 36% from the field compared to Utah’s 47%, UCLA controlled the glass 46-36 and was 23-27 at the line and that proved to be the difference in the game.
Today, UCLA faces Colorado with a chance to earn a road sweep in conference play for the first time this season. The Bruins have been very inconsistent this season. So, a road sweep isn’t exactly a sure thing. For a school that was chosen to win the conference title, UCLA hasn’t exactly been meeting expectations. Today is a chance to take a step forward towards that.
