UCLA Women’s Basketball Hosts Creighton in NCAA Second Round Game

The Bruins are looking to beat Creighton for the second time this season.

Jordin Canada will look to lead the Bruins to the team’s third straight Sweet 16 when UCLA faces the Creighton Blue Jays.

After Saturday’s win over American University, the Road to the Women’s Final Four continues at Pauley Pavilion tonight for UCLA when the Bruins face the Creighton Blue Jays.

This will be the second meeting all-time and the second meeting this season between the Bruins and Creighton. The teams met for the first time on November 25, 2017 in the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout in Las Vegas. The Bruins won that game, 72-63.

UCLA is looking for a repeat of that tonight at home.

The Bruins are also looking for a win to advance to their third straight Sweet 16. If UCLA can win tonight, they will meet the winner of tonight’s Second Round game between the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Texas Longhorns.

But, first, they need to beat the Blue Jays. While UCLA is 45-3 at home since the 2015-16 season, it doesn’t mean that Creighton will go away easily. The 11-seed Blue Jays upset the 6-seed Iowa Hawkeyes, 76-70, to advance tonight’s game.

The Bruins just have to stay focused and make sure that they play the way they are capable of playing and they should come out with a win.

Tonight’s game is on ESPN2, but I strongly recommend turning the TV sound down and listening to Dave Marcus’ call online as ESPN’s broadcast team was horrific during Saturday’s game. The link to the online audio can be found in the sidebar above.

This is your NCAA Women’s Tournament, Second Round game thread.

Go Bruins!!!
