This morning, the UCLA women’s basketball team begins play in the 2019 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. The sixth-seeded Bruins will play the eleventh-seeded Tennessee Lady Volunteers at the Xfinity Center in College Park, Maryland with an anticipated tip-off time of 10:30 am PT. The exact start time will be about 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game between Maryland and Radford.
The Bruins have been really hot since they lost to Southern Cal on January 20th. UCLA is 11-3 since then and the team’s three losses came against Stanford, a two-seed; Oregon State, a four-seed; and Oregon, a two-seed. The loss to Oregon came in the Pac-12 Tournament and it’s worth noting that one of the Bruins’ eleven wins came against those same Ducks in Eugene.
This team has come a long way since their 3-5 start to the season. In fact, since those first eight games, UCLA has gone 17-7.
So, the Bruins have the ability to play anyone in this tournament and beat them. The only real question is: How far can the Bruins go in the Tournament?
We’ll find out soon enough.
