UCLA plays Washington State in their last home game of the season and hopes to come away with a win.

The UCLA Bruins will play host to the Washington State Cougars for their last regular season home game. It will be a special moment for the seniors of the team seeing as the game will honor them in what is known as Senior Day. The team will honor Annie Alvarado, Lauren Kaskie, Gabbi Miranda, Amber Munerlyn, Darian Jenkins, Alyssa Alarab, and Courtney Proctor.

On Thursday, UCLA faced Washington in what looked to be an electric start. The Bruins pulled ahead of the Huskies 2-0 just seven minutes in. The Huskies took one back two minutes later and equalized before the half hour mark. The defense once again could not hold onto the lead and went into their fourth straight overtime. Minutes into OT and freshmen Jessie Fleming headed a long ball into the net after great service by junior Zoey Goralski.

Both Washington and Washington State have the same amount of points and nearly the same record. The game against Washington should have been a clear-cut game coming out of it with three points. However, it was the opposite of that as UCLA had problems defending upon scoring.

Against Washington State, the same thing can occur. In past games, the Cougars have only lost by one goal deficits with their defense holding up for the majority of the game. However, that will be difficult since the Bruins’ offense is a powerhouse as proven by the record book. UCLA leads the Pac-12 in points (92), assists (32), and assists per game (2.29). They can score, but defending is a big problem that has yet to be fully dealt with. Their defense, or lack of, can come to bite them in their behind in the postseason. A win and three points can boost their confidence for their last three games on the road.
