#5 UCLA Women’s Soccer Looks to Bounce Back at Home Against #22 Wisconsin

After losing last week to Santa Clara, UCLA looks to get back on track against the Badgers.

This evening, UCLA’s best football team will host the #22 Wisconsin Badgers at Wallis Annenberg Stadium on the UCLA campus starting at 6 pm.

Last Time Out

It’s been more than a week since the Bruins last took to the pitch.

Last Thursday, UCLA traveled to Santa Clara and, in an upset, the Broncos defeated the Bruins, 2-0. The Bruins just couldn’t muster any offense in this one. Well, actually, that’s not 100% correct. A Bruin defender did score a goal, but it occurred on a Santa Clara corner kick which bounced off one of the Bruins and went it the goal to put the Broncos on the scoreboard.

As it turned out, that would have been enough but the Broncos added an insurance goal in 56th minute and that was it for this one.

Wisconsin Badgers

The Wisconsin Badgers aren’t perceived to be a women’s college soccer power, but so far this season the Badgers are 4-1-1 and are ranked 22nd in the country.

So, tonight’s game is going to be a tough one for the Bruins. Hopefully, having home field advantage in this one will prove to be enough for a UCLA win.

UCLA and Wisconsin share a common opponent already. Both teams have played Florida State. The Bruins defeated the Seminoles, 2-1, while the ‘Noles handed Wisconsin their first loss of the year, 1-0 in overtime.

Based on that, I think the Bruins will take tonight’s game and I’m expecting a 2-0 UCLA win.

This is your UCLA women’s soccer open thread.

Go Bruins!!!
