Tonight, the UCLA women’s soccer team is in Hawai’i for the Rainbow Shootout. The Bruins’ next opponent is the Pepperdine Waves. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm PT.

Last Time Out

It was a low scoring affair on Saturday when UCLA hosted #22 Wisconsin. So low that there was only one goal scored by either team.

Thankfully, that one goal was scored by the Bruins’ Kennedy Faulknor in the 51st minute to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead while Teagan Micah earned her fourth clean sheet of the season to seal the win for UCLA.

In the 88th minute, Wisconsin had a corner kick which in a shot by Macy Monticello but Micah was able to save it and prevent the equalizer.

Pepperdine Waves

The Waves come into tonight’s match with a 3-3-1 record. While Pepperdine has lost to Illinois, Vanderbilt and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, they managed to defeat #2 Stanford last Friday night in Malibu by a score of 1-0.

So, the Waves are capable of beating the best teams in the country and UCLA will need to be careful to make sure that the same thing doesn’t happen to them.

Even though the Waves are just 3-19-3 all-time against the Bruins, tonight’s match is going to be a tough one.

In the end, I think the more talented team will win and the Bruins will have a 2-1 victory.

Go Bruins!!!
