UCLA Women’s Volleyball Wants Revenge Against Arizona

The Bruins head to Tucson with revenge on their minds after losing to the Wildcats at the start of October.

The UCLA Women’s Volleyball team returns to action tonight looking to avenge a loss earlier in the year to the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona came back after being down two sets to none to win in five sets at Pauley Pavilion on October 9th. That was the last time the Bruins lost a match.

The rematch probably couldn’t come at a better time for the Bruins. UCLA has won six straight matches and is now tied for first in the conference with Washington.

The Bruins won their sixth in a row last Saturday night when they beat Utah in straight sets 3-0. Against the Utes, the Bruins got another strong performance from freshman Torrey Van Winden had a double-double with 17 kills and 11 digs. Reily Buechler also had 17 kills. Jordan Anderson added 13 of her own.

Taylor Formico also recorded a double-double with 20 digs and 11 assists. It was her second double-double at UCLA.

Meanwhile, since the teams met last, Arizona has not played well. In the seven games they’ve played since facing UCLA at Pauley, Arizona has gone just 3-4 including a win Wednesday night over Southern Cal.

Hopefully, the Bruins can continue their hot streak and add to the Cats mediocrity.

Tonight’s game is unique, in that, it is the first UCLA sporting event which will be streamed live on Twitter. In addition to the usual sources, you will also be able to head to Twitter to watch tonight’s game, presumably while also tweeting about it.
