The UCLA Women’s Volleyball team started the season off right by sweeping Niagara in three sets, 25-14, 25-15, and 25-12 at the LMU Invitational on Friday afternoon.

The Bruins didn’t even allow Niagara to have a lead until the Purple Eagles scored the first two points of the third set. UCLA came right back with the next four points and finished Niagara off.

Junior Reilly Buechler led the Bruins with 14 kills, 6 digs and a .414 attack percentage. Overall, the Bruins hit .344 for the match. Senior Taylor Formico had 16 digs.

Today, the Bruins have a rare morning-night doubleheader. First up this morning, the Bruins take on the Illinois State Redbirds as the LMU Invitational continues. Then, tonight at 7pm, UCLA will face the 21st-ranked LMU Lions.
