Women’s Volleyball
The UCLA Women’s Volleyball team completed a sweep of the LMU Invitational by defeating the host LMU Lions in four sets, 20-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-19.
Reilly Buechler led the Bruins with 16 kills while Jordan Anderson had 11 kills. Taylor Formico led the team with 19 digs as Buechler made it a double-double with 14 digs. Junior Ryann Chandler had 40 assists.
The first set was won by LMU and it was the first set so far this season that UCLA did not win. But UCLA came back to win sets two, three and four to win the match.
UCLA outhit LMU .222 to .077 for the match.
The Bruins now head to Hawai’i and face Pacific on Thursday, September 1 at 7:45 pm PT in the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic.
Men’s Basketball
The UCLA Men’s Basketball team had an off-day yesterday after losing to Melbourne United early Saturday morning. The team traveled from Melbourne to Brisbane where they visited the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary where visitors can feed kangaroos and cuddle koalas.
The Bruins will play their third and final game in Australia tonight against the Brisbane Bullets at 2am PT (Monday). This game will have a live stream.
