Tonight is Senior Night for the UCLA Women’s Volleyball team as it is the final home game of the regular season. Seniors Reily Buechler and Sarah Sponcil will be honored before the start of tonight’s game.

Last night, UCLA swept the Colorado Buffaloes in three sets, 25-23, 25-18, 25-20. Sarah Sponcil had a double-double with 35 assists and 16 digs while Jenny Mosser led the Bruins with 14 kills.

In the first set after the teams split the first 22 points, UCLA fell behind by as many as three, but the Bruins kept coming back and, eventually, tied things back up at 23-23 when they closed out the set with the final three points to win it 25-23.

In the second set, UCLA won 10 of the first 12 points. The teams split the next 8 points to give the Bruins a 14-6 lead. With the score 20-13, UCLA, the Buffaloes made a valiant comeback attempt with a 4-0 run, but the Bruins won 5 of the next 6 points to close out the set with a 25-18 win.

The third and final set started off with the teams going back and forth, splitting the first ten points. A 5-1 run gave UCLA a comfortable 10-6 lead and the Bruins never looked back as Colorado would not get any closer than 3 points on five different occasions with the final 3-point lead coming at 21-18. The Bruins then took 4 of the final 6 points to close out the set and the match.
