It seems like forever since the women’s water polo played a game. In reality, it’s been two full weeks off for the team.
The nice thing about water polo is that rain doesn’t have to postpone a game because, after all, the players are already wet. And, barring lightning, tonight’s game against UC Irvine will still be played as scheduled.
Tonight’s game marks the home opener for the Bruins.
While the Anteaters are ranked 6th in the nation, UCLA has never lost to UCI in 20 games. So far this year, the Bruins are a perfect 7-0 and have outscored their opponents 112-20.
When UCLA played Long Beach State two weeks ago, they easily defeated the 49ers 13-2 behind four goals from Rachel Fattal, who is now in fourth place on UCLA’s all-time goals list with 188. She needs 14 more to pass Katie Rulon who finished her career with 201. Alexis Angermund, Mackenzie Barr and Kori Hill each scored two goals in that game while Maddie Musselman, Alexa Tielmann and Alys Williams add one goal each.
