Yesterday was a long, long day of baseball, but in the end, all was well for UCLA. They won a 15-inning marathon to start the day then rode a gem by Nick Vander Tuig to a win to jump out to a perfect 2-0 start in Pac-12 play. Today, they will go for the sweep of Washington and the perfect beginning to their Pac-12 title defense.
Grant Watson will get the start for UCLA, which is good by the Bruins. He's been their best pitcher in the first month of the season, compiling a 3-0 record and 1.35 ERA. Washingto counters with Jared Fisher, who has only throw 7.1 innings this season and has allowed three earned runs.
As always, you can listen in to John Ramey and Tim Welhelm or follow along with GameTracker. You can also get all of your game updates and observations, as well as all news, notes and links on my UCLA baseball Twitter. This is your open thread so chime in with updates and observations as the Bruins try to make it a clean sweep.
