UCLA at Washington St. Saturday Baseball Thread: Bust Out The Bats Again

The Bruins will try to make it two for two in Pullman.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRE

It was nerve racking and tense, but UCLA got the job done last night, beating Washington St. 7-6 in 11 innings to grab the first game of the Pac-12 series in Pullman. It was the offense who did the work too, putting up the runs necessary to claim the win even when the pitching staff struggled. If the offense can do it again, or if the pitching returns to form, UCLA can grab today's game too and win the series as they try to make up ground in the Pac-12 title race.

Nick Vander Tuig will get the nod for the Bruins today, which is great news because he has been phenomenal this season. He's just 6-3, but he has a 1.87 ERA and has been the Bruns' best pitcher all year. He'll be opposed by Tanner Chleborad who is 3-6 with a 5.57 ERA.

This afternoon's game gets underway at 2 pm PT and you can follow along on GameTracker. John Ramey isn't up in Pullman and Washington St. charges for their online radio call so we're stuck just the live stats, although if you can get a link to Pullman's 1150 AM or 105.3 AM, you can listen in there. This is your open thread so check in, provide updates and chime in as the Bruins try to claim the series.
