UCLA vs. Irvine Tuesday Baseball Thread: Bruins Host Anteaters

The Bruins will try to improve their resume with a win over UC Irvine.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRE

The last time UCLA played UC Irvine, Brenton Allen brought the Bruins back from the dead with a ninth inning home from before they wont it in 12 innings. Now they meet again, this time at Jackie Robinson Stadium, and they hope things will be a little easier as they try to pick up a win that would be a nice resume boost with just a month left before Selection Monday.

Cody Poteet will start for the Bruins and while he had a rough start last week, he had a nice relief appearance over the weekend so maybe he can improve upon his 2-4 record and 4.84 ERA. Mitch Meten, who is 4-1 with a 4.43 ERA will get the nod for Irvine.

If you're not out at the ballpark this evening, listen in to John Ramey and Tim Welhelm or follow along with GameTracker. This is your open thread so chime in with updates and observations as the Bruins try to pick up another win over the Anteaters
