Jackie Robinson Stadium has been kind to UCLA this season. They've gone 23-9 at the friendly confines and tonight, they hope to close out their regular season home schedule with win No. 24 as they continue to chase a regional host spot. At this point, the Bruins are probably assured to play the regional at home unless they go 0-4 this season, but a 4-0 week might also get them in contention for a national seed so there is plenty left to play for.
Cody Poteet will be on the mound for UCLA and he'll hope to get back on track after a rough start last week. He's had an inconsistent freshman campaign and is just 3-6 with a 5.26 ERA, but with the postseason looming, the Bruins need him to find his stride. UCSB will start Justin Jacome, who is 5-3 with a 4.04 ERA.
As always, you can listen to the ballgame with John Ramey and Tim Wilhelm, who will have the call live from the Jack. You can also follow along on GameTracker so follow along and share your updates, thoughts and reactions right here in your open thread as the Bruins look to finish the season strong.
