UCLA vs. Utah Saturday Baseball Thread: Bruins Look To Win The Series

The Bruins can take the series with a win today.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRE

UCLA got the job done last night, upending Utah 5-2 to take Game 1 of the three-game Pac-12 series against the Utes, but they still have plenty of work to do. If they want to stay in the race for a conference title, they need a sweep this weekend, which means they need another win today.

The spectacular Nick Vander Tuig will be on the hill for UCLA, with his 7-3 record and 1.77 ERA. He'll be opposed by Dalton Carroll, who is 3-5 with a 4.64 ERA. The Bruin bats were good enough yesterday, but should be able to be ever better today against a weaker Utes pitcher.

If you're not out at the ballpark this afternoon, listen in to John Ramey and Tim Welhelm or follow along with GameTracker. This is your open thread so chime in with updates and observations as the Bruins try to grab the series win.
