UCLA vs. LSU, College World Series Thread: Hello Omaha

It's the Bruins and Tigers from TD Ameritrade Park.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRE

UCLA got the job done against in the Regionals and they did it again in the Super Regionals, despite taking on Cal State Fullerton at their park. Next up, the College World Series in Omaha.

The Bruins get their Omaha campaign underway tonight when they take on LSU in their College World Series opener. North Carolina State already defeated North Carolina today so the winner the Bruins and Tigers' contest will take on the Wolfpack, while the loser will face the Tar Heels in an elimination game.

Adam Plutko gets the nod for UCLA and brings with him a 8-3 record and 2.35 ERA this year, but he'll have to be at his best today because he's going up against the best offense in Omaha and Aaron Nola, who went 12-0 with a 1.68 ERA this year. This is a stern test for the Bruins and they wouldn't want anyone other than Plutko on the mound. After all, he is 5-0 with a 0.81 career postseason ERA.

The game is live on ESPN2 so tune in and see if the Bruins can get their Omaha stay off on the right foot. This is your open thread so have at it and go Bruins.
