The UCLA Bruins baseball team (47-8, 24-5 Pac-12) completed its regular season yesterday with a rainout in what would have been the third game of the three game series against the Oregon Ducks. The game won’t be made up.
Now, the Pac-12 Champions and winners of ten straight games await their postseason seeding and placement within the 64-team bracket, which will be announced tomorrow, Memorial Day, May 27th, at 9 am PT on ESPNU.
UCLA is essentially a lock for the #1 or #2 seed. The Bruins have been number one in the rankings for weeks and have either been first or second in RPI with Vanderbilt. The Commodores play in the championship game of the SEC Tournament today, which could affect the seeds. UCLA did not lose a regular season series all year and was a perfect 11-0 in their midweek games, which should give the Bruins significant cache with the selection committee.
Either way, UCLA will host a Regional next weekend, May 31st - June 3rd, and, if the Bruins prevail in the four-team, double elimination Regional, would host a Super Regional the following weekend, June 7th - June 10th.
The big reveal will be televised tomorrow at 9 am PT on ESPNU and on WatchESPN.com and the ESPN app.
Go Bruins!
