Trojans Basketball Coaches Fight Over a Player that Went to UCLA

Current Southern Cal Coach Enfield allegedly tampered with a UTEP player but failed miserably in his attempt to cheat.

Both current and former Southern Cal's basketball coaches met yesterday and a heated argument and pushing match ensued.  What made the fight even more ironic is it was over a player attending UCLA.

You see former Southern Cal head coach Tim Floyd, now at UTEP, has stated over and over that current USC head coach Andy Enfield tampered with then UTEP letter of intent signer Isaac Hamilton.

Floyd and Enfield have been exchanging public words since last summer, when Floyd, who coached at USC from 2005-09, accused Enfield of tampering with Isaac Hamilton, a guard from Southern California who had signed a national letter of intent with UTEP. Floyd refused to release Hamilton from his letter, and Hamilton subsequently signed with UCLA. Last week, Enfield was quoted in a Men's Journal article saying that Floyd "shows up every day at work and realizes he lives in El Paso, Texas, and he's pissed off that he didn't get the USC job two months ago."

Of course the heated words between coaches almost led to a fight between assistants.

After about five minutes, three of Enfield's assistant coaches, Kevin Norris, Tony Bland and Jason Hart, stood behind Floyd. Soon Floyd could be heard saying to Hart, "Do you want to kick my ass?"

At that point, Floyd's assistant coach, Bob Cantu, who served as USC's interim head coach after the school fired Kevin O'Neill during the 2013 regular season and was sitting at a table a few feet away, stood up and joined the conversation. While Enfield, his wife and Floyd walked away, Cantu got into an argument with Bland and Hart. Those men were separated, but a few seconds later Bland rushed at Cantu. He was held back by UTEP strength coach Chisan Jones.

Cantu was a thug interim coach at Southern Cal as I commented at the time but apparently Just$C's current assistants are worse.  Floyd left under a cloud over the OJ Mayo debacle and now Enfield allegedly attempts to cheat with the result the player goes to UCLA!

The Enfield quip clown show continues on the court where USC ranks 168th in scoring to UCLA's 23rd.  This would not be a big deal except Southern Cal was held to 65 by the only decent team they played (Utah State) and have not scored more than 76 except for a blow out of Cal State Northridge.  Enfield remember said: "If you want to play slow, go to UCLA."  Apparently Enfield is working on his quotes but not at coaching or controlling his staff.

What Enfield should have said "if you want to see your head coach argue and your assistants fight, go to Southern Cal".

Instead of closing with Go Bruins on this Thanksgiving I will just say I am thankful not to be a Trojan.
