Alford Shows No Remorse & Takes No Responsibility for His Past Actions in Iowa

UCLA’s new head coach Steve Alford was asked about his involvement in the disturbing Pierre Pierce saga in Iowa. He offered no apology and took no responsibility for actions.

Steve Alford had his first presser today in Westwood. His comment was basically a bland blend of talking points in which he name dropped Coach Wooden's name, "basketball" & Indiana. There was nothing inspiring about it as he most regurgitated his "UCLA is the pinnacle of college basketball" talking point in New Mexico. Yet, he really said nothing about his expectations in terms of results as a UCLA coach.

More importantly he was asked about his involvement in the disturbing Pierre Pierce saga in Iowa. His answer to the question was not very impressive (video via BruinBlitz.com):

Well ---uh --- that was an instance that happened years ago at the University of Iowa and all I can tell you with that situation is I followed everything that the University of Iowa, the administration, the lawyers that were hired, I did everything that I was supposed to do at the University of Iowa in that situation.

I followed everything that I was told to do.

[Emphasis added]

You can view his response around starting around 14:25 minute of the video in which he shows no sign of remorse or willingness to take responsibility. Not good if you were hoping for a good first impression.
