UCLA Basketball: USC Game Thread -- Looking For Third Win In A Row

The Bruins seek to fulfill their commitment to three wins in nine days by beating USC tonight at the Galen Center. Its' the same old PAC-12 story: our bigs, Looney and Parker, against their guards. We should win this one against the poor man's Dunk City Super-lite.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

The UCLA Bruins (10-7, 2-2) hop on the freeway for a short ride to the Galen Center to play the USC Trojans (9-7, 1-3). Tip-off is set for 6:05 PM PT. You can catch the game on ESPN2. Dave Pasch and Bill Walton will call the game (he's in love with the Bruins again along with his bike so don't expect any major pronouncements from him). You can also listen on Tunein Radio or 570 AM. Follow along with live stats here.

Vegas has UCLA as the four point favorite (I said 3 -- not bad). Really, I don't know how the Bruins lose to an Enfield team. He's starting to get the talent in, but the style of play, AAU on steroids (they used to call it "Dunk City" at Florida Gulf Coast), won't work with the current crop. They are more athletic than the Bruins, but not they are not very good shooters, and there's no one to cover Looney. The Bruins would love to have McLaughlin and Stewart on our roster, but there's no Chasson Randle there for guaranteed points. Just don't let either of those two (or Julian Jacobs) have a career night and stick to the "winning formula" as we've been describing, and this should be a comfortable win (even though it's sort of on the road).

Enjoy the game thread with your fellow BNers and Bruins.
