Yawn. Boring game.
Scoring leaders for UCLA at the half were Isaac Hamilton with 10 and Aaron Holiday with 9, who incidentally also were the only players who came to play. Otherwise, it was a quiet first half by BAlford, Welsh, and Parker. Nothing notable except poor, lazy defense letting McNeese State, 2-7, shoot uncontested 3s and hang around. It was 27-30 at intermission.
The second half started with a quick McNeese State 3 pointer to tie the game at 30 all. Bryce Alford answered with a 3 from the corner and kick-started an 8-0 run for the Bruins, who basically kept the game at around 10 points for the entire half. Nothing stands out to me so I'll leave it to those who are more knowledgable to point things out in the comments.
Hamilton had a consistent game and ended with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Holiday ended with 12 points, 3 rebounds, and an assist. BAlford ended with 13 points, 4 rebounds, though did have 8 assists. I'm not sure why Tony Parker didn't dominate McST only finishing with only 6 points, though with 11 rebounds. Thomas Welsh had a nice second half finishing with a double double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. I really like Welsh and the way he plays, seems to do all the little things.
I took notes but seriously not worth typing up into full sentences. This is the postgame thread. Goodnight all!
Go Bruins!
