Defying the odds and the so-called experts, UCLA's Men's Basketball has made this year's NCAA Tournament.
The committee, once again, seems to have exhibited a brutal sense of humor with our Bruins, as they will face the Southern Methodist Mustangs who are coached by former Bruin coach Larry Brown.
The two teams will play on Thursday in Louisville, KY. If they are able to advance to the Round of 32, they will play the winner of Iowa State and UAB.
Looming on the horizon is a possible rematch in the Sweet 16 with Gonzaga, the only team to beat UCLA at home this season. There's that sense of humor again.
Of course, that assumes that the Zags get past Iowa or Davidson. It would be even funnier if UCLA plays Iowa in the Sweet 16.
I told you the committee seems to have a sense of humor or, at least, a sense of irony.
Go Bruins!
