Tonight, UCLA will have what will likely prove to be its biggest test of the season since the Kentucky game when the Bruins travel to Eugene to play the Ducks in their Pac-12 conference opener.
The good news for UCLA is that Thomas Welsh will be back after missing the past few games with an injury. When you add in the fact that Chris Boucher may not be able to play, the Bruins may just have an added advantage.
They will need any advantage they can get because the Ducks are riding a 33-game home winning streak at Matthew Knight Arena that started almost two years ago on January 10, 2015. Since the building opened in 2011, the Ducks are 101-13 in their new home. That’s an .886 winning percentage.
Let’s hope that the team that played Kentucky shows up rather than the team which struggled at times against Western Michigan last week. With Welsh back in the lineup, look for the Bruins to come out ahead.
