2016 Pac-12 Tournament: UCLA Bruins vs. USC Trojans Game Thread & How To Watch

They say that the third time is the charm. Steve Alford sure better hope so or he will go down as the only Bruin coach to be winless in at least three tries in a season in seventy-four years.

Seventy-four years.

It's been seventy-four years since a Bruins coach has gone winless in at least three tries against Southern Cal. The last UCLA coach to do that was Wilbur Johns who was 0-4 against the Trojans in 1941-42. No Bruin coach has lost three games in a season to Southern Cal without winning at least one game against them the same year.

If UCLA is not able to find a way to win tonight, this game will cement the destruction of the UCLA Basketball program into Dan Guerrero's precious legacy.

Of course, there is still a way for Guerrero to fix that.

Come tomorrow morning, he should fire Steve Alford if Alford loses to the Trojans tonight.

No Bruin team should go winless in three games against Southern Cal. EVER. Period.

This is no longer about "unreasonable Bruin fans who want championships every year" as some in the media have claimed over the years. This is about being embarrassed by our crosstown rivals in each and every game they played this season.

Might I remind you of Guerrero's own words when it came to selecting a football coach: "We want someone who knows about rivalries."

Our basketball team has fallen so far that Mr. Guerrero needs to remember his own words when it comes to basketball now. It's not a rivalry when your opponent plays you three times in one season and beats you each of those times.

But, hey, who knows? Maybe the Bruin team that beat Kentucky and Arizona is the one suiting up tonight in Vegas.
