What’s Bruin: A Ball Family Christmas

News and notes from around the UCLA-iverse.

The Balls are just like the rest of us. They wake up early on Christmas morning, open presents full of apparel from their own family-branded clothing line, and then go through a grueling workout of pull-ups, push-ups, and dips before a family game of H-O-R-S-E.

SLAM Magazine paid a visit to LaVar Ball’s house and his three Bruins for Christmas this year:

Oh, you guys don’t do that too?

UCLA head men’s basketball coach Steve Alford paid a visit to SportsCenter early this morning and spoke about his superstar freshman PG:

The #2 ranked UCLA men’s volleyball team opens their season tonight in Chicago. The Bruins open 2017 action with a match against Loyola-Chicago, ranked #11 in the preseason, before a couple of matches against Big Ten opponents in Columbus, OH this weekend.

The women’s basketball team opened Pac-12 play with a sweep of the Mountain schools at Pauley Pavilion over the weekend.

Junior forward Monique Billings had back-to-back double-doubles against Utah and Colorado, and was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week.

Billings led the Bruins to a 2-0 week by averaging 18.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 48.1 percent (13-for-27) from the field.

GO BRUINS.
