What’s Bruin: UCLA Men’s Basketball Ranked 18th in Preseason Coaches Poll

What’s Bruin this Monday morning? Let’s start off with some basketball news.

Men’s Basketball

The UCLA Men’s Basketball team is ranked 18th in the USA Today Preseason Coaches Poll.

Meanwhile, two Bruins were named to preseason award watch lists. Thomas Welsh was named to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award watch list. Meanwhile, freshman Kris Wilkes was named to the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award watch list.

Women’s Soccer

After suffering their first loss of the season Thursday, #2 UCLA bounced back to defeat Washington Sunday afternoon 3-0.

Women’s Volleyball

It took five sets for UCLA to defeat Colorado, 25-17, 15-25, 18-25, 28-26, 16-14, on Saturday night.

Men’s Water Polo

Also on Saturday, the UCLA Men’s Water Polo team lost their second game of the season to defending national champion UC Berkeley, 12-9.

Men’s Soccer

The UCLA Men’s Soccer team fell to San Diego Sunday night 3-1.

Bruins in the Pros

The Phoenix Suns have fired head coach Earl Watson after the Suns lost the first three games of the NBA season. Watson was just 33-85 over parts of three seasons with the Suns.
