As if the campus wasn’t a good enough recruiting tool, it always helps when a recruit meets a Bruin legend while on an official visit. Luke Walton’s decision to go to Arizona instead of UCLA aside, if Bill Walton isn’t able to help UCLA land a recruit, then I’m not sure anyone is.
Anyone who has heard Big Red gush over the “greatness of UCLA” on a TV broadcast knows how much he loves the Four Letters. Judging by a tweet from basketball recruit Chris Smith, I’m sure Bill did the same thing in person when Smith met Walton this past week.

Smith is the sixth member of UCLA’s basketball recruiting class. Here are Smith’s most recent highlights, courtesy of Courtside Films.
Smith is a 6’8”, 190-lb. forward who is originally from Fort Worth, TX and is currently attending Huntington Prep in Huntington, WV. 247Sports lists Smith as the 28th best small forward in the country.
He joins a loaded class that many have ranked as high as second.
Welcome to Westwood, Chris!
Go Bruins!
