The Bruins face the 49ers tonight at Pauley Pavilion

I don’t know about any of you, but I need a distraction. Yesterday, I woke up to learn about the shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks. For more than 10 years, I lived about a mile from there.

Then, the fires broke out in Ventura County. First, it was the Hill Fire in Newbury Park. Then, it was the Woolsey Fire on the east end of Simi Valley. Shortly after midnight last night, my wife and I decided to voluntarily evacuate our home so that we might be able to get a little sleep. My wife got some. I didn’t.

We actually returned home this morning because things looked better. I got some sleep, but, now, while our home is still not under any evacuation order, there is a voluntary order about three blocks south and a mandatory order a few blocks east.

So, as I said at the beginning of this article, I need the distraction of tonight’s basketball game.

As DCBruins pointed out in our game preview, tonight’s game against the Long Beach State 49ers should be an easy one for the Bruins. So, kick back and enjoy tonight’s game, hopefully from the comfort of your own home and try to forget about some of what’s gone on in Southern California the past couple of days.

Heaven knows, I need to.

This season, we are proud to, again, have today’s audio feed for everyone who opts to use the TuneIn player embedded below. For optimum results, start the audio feed then pause your DVR and sync them up together. Tonight, Jim Watson and Bill Walton have the call for the Pac-12 Networks. If you’d rather listen to Josh Lewin and Tracy Murray call tonight’s game, although I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t want to listen to our National Treasure, you can do that right here.
