As tasser10 noted in our last practice roundup Bruins will are expected to have a tough and physical practice early this am, before wrapping it up without pads tomorrow to get ready for spring game on Saturday. If you are around West LA this morning feel free to head over to Spaulding and check out the action and share with us your final notes before the scrimmage on Saturday.
Some (defensive back heavy) news bullets to get your morning started:
- Jack Wang has a good post on Dietrich Riley easing back into action after suffering a separated shoulder in our third practice. Riley still has the red "no contact" jersey on (again can we use another color besides red?) but thankfully will not need surgery. Hopefully he is 100 percent by the end of this summer and ready for San Berdoo.
- Wang also caught up with sophomore Fabian Moreau. Moreau (listed at 6-0/182 in the official site) came out as a RB/receiver out of Florida, but has been settling in (according to reports) as a CB in the program. Good thing because we need depth at that position.
- Stating with defensive backs, Chris Foster has a nice report on Anthony Jefferson and Brandon Sermons, both of whom have reportedly have had solid spring, after being buried in the depth chart due to injuries. Both of them came into the program as highly touted recruits out of high school but never got it going. Sermons apparently have put on some weight (5-10/195) and playing at the safety spot while Jefferson has been displaying "speed and smothering abilities" as a CB. Hopefully - they will get to flash some of that during spring game this Saturday.
- Speaking of the spring game, don't forget Mora wants 50K at the Rose Bowl this weekend. Not sure we will get there but if you are around Southern California, get the word out and head out to Pasadena this Saturday.
That's all I have for now. As always if we missed something - feel free to fill in the blanks in the comment threads or fanshots or fanposts.
