2013 NCAA Football Rankings: UCLA Holds Steady (at 13/14) in Week 5

Not much movement in Week 5 of NCAA football rankings as the Bruins hold steady at 13 in AP poll and move up spot to 14 in USA Today/Coaches’ poll.

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

It's Sunday - that means (besides NFL games) fresh rankings are out. This past weekend was bit of a dud as there were not a lot of marquee games on the schedule. So there wasn't much movement in both AP and Coaches' polls.

I am guessing most of the voters didn't watch the Bruins given our late game - so they probably voted by final score, which looks pretty impressive on paper (these days online). Bruins jumped up one spot to 14 in coaches' poll and remained steady at 13 in AP polls.

Here are the rankings (staring with the AP) [charts courtesy of our friends at SBNation.com]:

Not surprisingly Arizona State dropped out of the rankings after getting handled by the Trees at the Farm. Bruins shouldn't worry too much about the rankings at this point. Because if they don't take care of business against Utah in about 10 days none of this will matter all that much.

Hopefully, we will get off to a better start and finish the job when we are in the national spotlight for a Thursday night game in SLC.

GO BRUINS.
