No Mora Updates on Hundley Till ASU Kickoff

It was surprising to hear Mora tell reporters last night that he would be updating them on Hundley's status, as the team does gain a tactical advantage by forcing ASU to prepare for both Hundley and Neuheisel.

Coach Mora will not be offering any updates on Brett Hundley's left elbow before the ASU game.

Don't expect to hear any updates on Brett Hundley's elbow injury from Coach Mora.

According to an article by Jack Wang of InsideSoCal.com, UCLA Coach Jim Mora told reporters on Sunday that he won't be providing any updates on Hundley's status until kickoff of the ASU game on September 25th.

Wang quoted Mora as saying:

I'm not going to tell anybody anything until kickoff versus Arizona State. Nobody. Nothing.

Well, you can't blame him. By keeping Hundley's status a secret, it forces Arizona State to prepare for the possibility of facing either Hundley or Neuheisel.

In fact, I was quite surprised when he promised to update everyone on Hundley's status after the team returned to campus during his post-game press conference last night.

According to Wang, Mora did say that Hundley had not yet had an MRI of the elbow. Wang writes, "He may be examined on Monday, but Mora didn't give a firm schedule."

Considering this, the only thing that Bruin fans will be able to do between now and a week from Thursday is hope that Hundley is well enough to play. In the event he can't, we can feel confident that Jerry is capable of leading the team to victory against an ASU team which will probably be missing their own starting QB.

Until then, we wish Brett a speedy recovery.

Go Bruins!
