UCLA's sophomore backup punter Adam Searl was arrested by LAPD's Wilshire Division yesterday afternoon on suspicion of three counts of rape.
The LA Daily News has an article from City News Service detailing the arrest. The article says that Searl is accused of raping a woman in 2014 and that the arrest was the result of a joint LAPD and UCPD investigation.
Meanwhile, CBS Los Angeles has more details. That articles states:
The Bruins punter is accused of raping a woman on Oct. 19, 2014, after she met him outside of an off-campus house party in Westwood. Searl allegedly accompanied the woman to a nearby residence where she fell asleep, and she awoke to find him sexually assaulting her, LAPD officials said.
Searl saw his first action of the season last weekend in the ASU game when he punted five times for 195 yards.
He was posted $300,000 bail and was released late Thursday night, according to the LA County Sheriff’s Department. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Oct. 29.
Searl has been suspended indefinitely by UCLA and there won't be any further comment due to the ongoing investigation.
