Devin Lucien Looks to Graduate And Transfer

As UCLA looks to start Spring Practice at 7am PT on Tuesday, UCLA will be without one of its leading receivers in 2015.

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

On the eve before Spring Practice started, some interesting news broke regarding the football team. Wide Receiver Devin Lucien has left the football team and will attempt to transfer as a graduate student, according to an article by Chris Foster of the LA Times.

Foster writes:

Lucien has one year of eligibility remaining and could play immediately if he enrolls in a graduate program. He has yet to graduate from UCLA, but hopes to have his degree before summer.

Lucien would be a redshirt senior in the fall, but, by finishing his undergraduate degree by summer, he will be able to enroll in a graduate program, making him eligible to play immediately elsewhere.

While it's certainly sad to see Lucien go because he had the third most catches last season with 29 including two that went for touchdowns, receiver is a position where the Bruins are deep, talented and experienced, as uclaluv pointed out in her preview of the wide receivers over the weekend.

Thanks, Devin! We wish you the best!

Go Bruins!!!
