Variety.com is reporting that the Los Angeles County District Attorney declined to file filing felony charges against Sean "P. Diddy" Combs on Thursday for his confrontation with UCLA Strength & Conditioning Coach Sal Alosi on June 22nd.

Instead, the case is being referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office. The City Attorney could decide to file misdemeanor charges against Combs.

Combs' attorney Mark Geragos issued the following statement:

We are thankful that the District Attorney rejected Felony charges in this matter. This case never should have been part of the criminal justice system to begin with.

Fox News reports that a UCLA spokesman said that UCLA had no comment on the District Attorney's decision. Fox News also reports that City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan confirmed his office would be reviewing the case.

It still remains to be seen whether Justin Combs will remain on the UCLA football team for this season.
