What's Bruin: UCLA RB Paul Perkins Getting Heisman Love After Huge Game

Paul Perkins is receiving some respect after rushing for 219 yards this weekend.

Hello Bruins Fans.

The regularity to which I succumb to "the case of the Mondays" is so punctual that maybe I should invite some Swiss watch makers over to calibrate their time pieces. Anyways, I don't know about you, but I'm still riding high over the great game over the weekend. With that, let's check out What's Bruin in the UCLA-verse.

UCLA FOOTBALL

Is this the year of the running back? Paul Perkins is the most underrated running back in the nation...until now. Stewart Mandel ranks the Perkinator as #3 in Week 3 Heisman ballot. Mandel has another article with his three takeaways from the BYU-UCLA game.

Sticking with Fox Sports writers (I know right?), Bruce Feldman dug up this amazing stat:

UCLA, which gave up 128 sacks in previous three seasons, has surrendered just one this year. Not bad especially when you're starting a true freshman quarterback and all three opponents have been FBS teams.

Bravo OL. Oh &, maybe I should credit Rosen.

ESPN agrees with the polls, listing the Bruins at the top of the Pac-12. It's an interesting list after Oregon at #2 so check it out.

Our Pac-12 friends at ASU are bummed that ESPN's GameDay chose the UCLA-Arizona game over their game versus *$c in Week 4.

Olympic Sports

Congrats to the #1 Men's Water Polo team as they took care of business and beat #4 Stanford on Sunday to win the Kap7 NorCal Invitational 8-7.

It was a busy weekend for UCLA's men's tennis players.

And that's What's Bruin on this crisp Fall Monday morning.

GO BRUINS!
