Vanderdoes’s departure was expected, as the defensive tackle had been projected as a first round draft pick in the NFL even before the 2016 season began. Vanderdoes redshirted the 2015 season after suffering a season-ending knee injury in the opener against Virginia.
With Takkarist McKinley and Eli Ankou graduating and Vanderdoes’s early deparure, the Bruin defense will now have to replace three starters on the line.
Best of luck, Eddie!
